So, almost every weekend my girls ask for Nick’s famous french toast recipe. Nick, being their dad. I have to say this french toast is absolutely amazing!! With all the butter, how can it not, right? Adjust the recipe how you need, but basically it is 1 egg for every 2 pieces of bread. My husband also said that the regular white bread is the best for his recipe. Enjoy!
Ingredients
- 16 slices of regular bread
- 8 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
- 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
- butter
Directions
Preheat a skillet to 350 degrees.
Mix together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and brown sugar with a hand mixer until it is well blended. Dip each piece of bread into the egg mixture and place on a buttered skillet. Cut 4 Tbsp. of butter lenghwise each, into four pieces, so that you have 16 pieces of butter. Place one piece on top of each piece of Nick’s famous french toast. When the bottom is brown, flip the bread so that the cut piece of butter is now on the skillet. Brown all pieces of bread until done.
