I love making Deviled eggs for friends and family. The longest part is actually boiling the eggs. It is healthy and delicious and it’s easy to add more depending on how many people you are serving.
Ingredients
- 8 Wilcox Large Eggs
- 4 tbs. Mayonnaise
- 2 tbs. Yellow Mustard
- Paprika
Directions
Place eggs in a large pot and bring water to a boil. When boiling, cover and remove from heat. Let sit for 20 minutes. Then drain the water and add cold water and ice to stop the eggs from cooking. Let the eggs cool for about 5 minutes.
Peal and cut eggs in half. Place yolks in a bowl. After you are done pealing and cutting the eggs, get the yolk mixture ready. Mix yolks, mustard and mayo together until blended well. Taste, and add more mayo or mustard to your taste.
Put yolk mixture into a pipping bag, and squeeze into cut eggs. Garnish with a sprinkling of paprika.
More about Deviled eggs
Deviled eggs are hard-boiled eggs, that are filled with the yolk of that egg and other ingredients. Mainly those ingredients are mustard and mayonnaise. The egg shell is removed and then cut in half to get the yolk out. Deviled eggs are served cold and as an appetizer. The deviled egg is seen as far back as ancient Rome and was served during the first course.
