Obviously being in an Italian family we eat a lot of pasta.  This yet another dish to mix up the flavors with pasta.  Pasta with Fresh Fava is a light dish without any meats.

Ingredients

  •  16 oz Fava beans
  • 1/4 onion
  • 2 Tbsp. Bertolli extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 can San Marzano whole peeled tomatoes
  • Morton iodized salt/McCormick Ground Black pepper
  • 1 box spaghetti
  • 2 Tbsp. C&H pure cane granulated white Sugar

Directions

Place a large pot of water on the stove and bring to a boil for the pasta. Skin the fava beans. Saute onion and fava beans in olive oil for about five minutes.  Add the pasta to the boiling water. Next, add the peeled tomato, sugar, and salt and pepper to the onion and fava bean pan.

Place pasta on a plate and spoon fava bean mixture over pasta. Enjoy!

If you are using dried fava beans, rinse the beans and cook in water. After that, follow the same directions above.
