I make these Italian Seasoned Breadcrumbs when my bread is starting to get a bit hard and I don’t want to waste it. Just add parsley, cheese, garlic powder, salt and pepper to get these great bread crumbs that can be frozen for later use.

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf Dry bread
  • 1 cup Bel Gioioso grated Parmesan
  • McCormick Garlic powder
  • Morton Iodized Salt/McCormick Ground Black pepper

Directions

Dry bread. Grind bread in a food processor. Add a handful of Parmesan cheese, Romano cheese or Logotelli cheese. Next add garlic powder, salt and pepper to taste. If desired may add fresh cut parsley.

Freeze if you make a lot for later use.

More about Italian Seasoned Breadcrumbs

Parmigiano-Reggiano, or Parmesan cheese is a hard granular cheese. This cheese is produced only in Italy, in very specific regions. Italian law states that only these specific regions can have the label Parmigiano-Reggiano used. In the United States, the name is used also with imitations of parmigiano-reggiano.
